Faith and Food
This vigorous group recognizes that it is important for men to gather, to share common concerns, and to grow in their faith. The Men@Union group provides camaraderie and belonging for men of all ages and circumstances.
Men@Union generally meet for breakfast the first Saturday of the month, except in the summer. You can always check the calendar if it's a special weekend. The annual retreat is very popular with varied leadership from both inside and outside the church community.
Men’s Retreat October 6-8, 2017
The 2017 Men’s Retreat will focus on how men deal with hope – defined as a feeling of expectation or desire for something to happen. In contrast to faith, hope might be considered our last resort, when all practical means to resolve an issue have been unsuccessful and we feel as though we are in the hands of fate. Although some might deem this the “Hail Mary” approach to life, hope is a normal human response during anxious times. We will discuss what we hope for, why we hope, and – most importantly – how we can help alleviate the stress and strain associated with common anxiety.
What: UCC’s annual Men’s Retreat is an excellent way for men in our church community to meet, bond, share, kick back, and relax over an October weekend in a rustic setting about an hour’s drive from Montclair. Our program includes large group discussions, smaller group interaction, and personal moments of reflection as well as ample free time for camaraderie, exercise, and relaxation.
