Loving God,
Loving Neighbor,
Building Community

As a progressive and inclusive Christian community, we honor tradition while embracing a forward-thinking faith. We joyfully welcome people of all genders, sexual orientations, and walks of life to grow with us in relationship with God and one another.

Greetings from our Pastor

Every Sunday, we say “no matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here,” and we mean it. Union Congregational Church (aka Union Cong) is a warm community of people from many walks of life on a common journey of searching for meaning, hope, and connection in a hurting world. Here you will find others who relish living in the questions, building relationships, and striving to love our neighbors in tangible ways. Across the age span, we offer opportunities to learn and grow in faith, encountering the spirit of the living God through worship, music, fellowship and service.

We welcome you to join us, or reach out to learn more!

Empowering Our Future

Children and Youth

We are committed to raising the next generation of Christians by providing a strong sense of church community, a love of God, and a desire to bring about justice  for all people. We have multiple ways for children and youth to participate, including Sunday School, children’s choir, and a multi-church youth group for middle schoolers and high schoolers full of fun and service opportunities.

Small Groups

Small group ministry at Union Congregational Church brings forth intentional, member-led small groups that build community within our congregation, deepen relationships and cultivate a sense of belonging.

Small Groups include:  Gentle Yoga, Union Sages (for seniors), Women’s Group, UCC Players, Men’s Group, Daytime Bible Study, Livestream Community, Prayer Shawl Team, “Our Whole Selves” Moms’ Group, and Archives.

Justice & Community Engagement

Below are just a few of the ways we work to recognize and relieve oppression, individual suffering, poverty, and isolation. Click here to learn more about all of our Justice ministries.

Racial Justice is a missional priority of our church. Our work is guided around internal transformation and external solidarity around issues of racial justice. (Pictured: 2025 ‘Segregated By Design’ film screening + redlining discussion)

Love In Action

Special Collection: Easter Offering

As a church, we observe a special tradition during Lent: the Easter Offering. Each year, the church selects a special mission or organization to support through dedicated donations. This focused effort allows the congregation to collectively contribute to a cause that fosters a spirit of generosity and increases community impact. The culmination of this Lenten journey is the presentation of the gathered offering the week after Easter Sunday, symbolizing the hope and renewal of the season through a tangible act of service.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. –Matthew 25:35

As we explore “everything in between” in worship this Lent, we are searching for a place between extremes. In response to the government’s indiscriminate and abrupt termination of funding for refugee resettlement to our partners at Church World Service, we are raising money to support people left in the lurch. Families we are in relationship with through our Refugee Resettlement Ministry Team are in need of support, and we may connect with others through our relationships at CWS, MFEE, and beyond. These funds will be used to address pressing needs such as: baby items for an expectant mom, support for purchasing a used car to enable better job opportunities, and rent support for new arrivals working in low-wage jobs while they seek stability and self-sufficiency. Help us welcome and support our newest neighbors in the spirit of Christian love.

You can give to the Easter Offering during Sunday worship, or by clicking the Donate/Pay tab on the church website, and selecting “Easter Offering” as your purpose.

Ministry Areas

Worship and Music
In our Worship & Music Ministry area, teams and small groups help create and facilitate aspects of Sunday worship and the worship atmosphere. Our Sanctuary Choir and handbell choir, the UCC Ringers, offer outlets for you to explore your musical talents and discover new ways to express your faith through song.
We believe that faith formation is a lifelong journey, a cultivation of spiritual curiosity and more about exploring life’s questions than settling on one answer. With programs, groups, and learning opportunities across the age span, we are an intellectually curious and engaged congregation. Join us on the journey!

Our Congregational Care and Small Groups Ministry Area teams are dedicated to fostering a loving, supportive, caring community where every member feels valued, cared for, and connected. In addition to the Congregational Care team (formerly Deacons), many small fellowship groups gather to create a unique and fun sense of belonging. Congregational Connection is sometimes referred to as “Small Groups.”

This area of ministry encompasses a number of Ministry Teams. It encompasses not only our external engagement with the community on social justice issues; but also opportunities to examine ourselves within so that we in our own lives are aligned with justice ministries, such as racial justice, creation justice, food security, refugee resettlement, LGBTQ+ welcoming and celebration.
